Job summary

The Growing Years in Clayton, NC is hiring Lead Preschool and Pre-K Teachers to support children in the Preschool and Pre-K age groups. This on-site role requires a high school diploma, background checks, and an associate or bachelor's degree in early childhood education or an equivalent combination (12 ECE credits).

Shifts are Monday–Friday, roughly 8:30–5:30 with slight variations. Compensation is $18–$20 per hour, depending on education and experience, plus benefits such as

• Previous childcare experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare developmentally appropriate lesson plans one week in advance using current curriculum guides.
• Implement weekly lesson plans covering all areas of child development and follow daily routines.
• Establish professional rapport with families to provide quality care.
• Ensure safety and well-being of every child and maintain an organized, clean classroom.
• Maintain child assessments and portfolios and conduct periodic conferences with parents.
• Ability to lift and move loads and perform physical tasks required for caring for children.

To be QUALIFIED for the Lead Preschool and Pre-K Teacher opportunities, we require a high school diploma and the ability to pass all background checks. We also require an associate or a bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a relevant field or a completed associate or bachelor's degree with at least 12 credits of early childhood education or their equivalent. A plus if you have previous childcare experience!

Required Shift:Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm OR 9:00am - 6:00pm OR 8:45am-5:45pm

Compensation: $18-$20 per hour,based on education and experience

Main Job Responsibilities for Lead Pre-K Teachers:

• Prepare lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate one week in advance using current curriculum guides.


• Implement lesson plans/curriculum on a weekly basis covering all areas of child development and carryout lesson plans according to classroom schedule/daily routine; Useour parent communication appefficiently.


• Establish a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.


• Responsible for the safety and well-being of each child, responding to their emotional needs; andmaintaining an organized, clean, safe, and appropriately decorated classroom.


• Maintaina child assessment and portfoliofor each child, as well as conduct biannual parent/teacher conferences during the month of November and May.


• Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing,walking,running,and climbing stairs.


• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.


• Carry out the daily responsibilities of the classroom relating to the care of the children.
