Job summary

The Team Lead, Unit Pre-Award Administration at the University of Vermont will guide the RAO’s development, creating a coordinated approach to sponsored project administration. This role partners with the Dean’s Office and SADR to align processes, policies, and documentation across central and unit teams to support researchers.

Responsibilities include supervising Pre-Award Administrators, leading process improvements, onboarding staff, serving as liaison on policy matters, and delivering

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and six years of government, non-profit or higher education experience required.
• Experience in complex research administration, grant and contract proposal submission management required.
• Budget building and spreadsheet proficiency required.
• Demonstrated customer service experience required.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written required.
• Analytical skills and effective presentation skills required.
• Experience in employee supervision required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate the further development of the Research Administration Office (RAO).
• Provide supervision for unit Pre-Award Administrators and oversee proposal development and submission.
• Implement continuous improvement activities; streamline processes and develop tools and documentation.
• Provide on-boarding and training for central and unit pre-award administrators.
• Serve as liaison on policy, procedural and process information for the area of responsibility.
• Provide executive level pre-award and post-award support for the dean’s office grant portfolio.
