Job summary

Planet Group is seeking a Project Manager to lead capital projects at power generation facilities in Chester, VA. You will oversee development through commissioning, ensuring safety, environmental compliance, budget, schedule, and quality.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in construction/engineering environments, 3+ years leading capital projects, and experience with turbines, generators, pumps, motors, and control systems. OSHA knowledge and strong leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or Construction Management preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction, engineering, or industrial project environments.
• At least 3 years of project management experience leading capital projects.
• Experience with power generation facilities and major plant equipment (turbines, generators, pumps, motors, control systems, E/I systems, BOP).
• Familiarity with OSHA safety requirements and construction/operational practices.
• Ability to oversee multiple projects in active industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute capital projects with safety and environmental compliance as the highest priority.
• Manage all phases of capital projects from planning to turnover to operations.
• Support project development, permitting, and site development.
• Develop and manage budgets, schedules, and cost forecasts.
• Monitor financial performance to meet approved goals.
• Manage engineering, equipment, construction, and EPC contracts.
• Oversee contractor performance and commercial aspects of projects.
• Coordinate stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
• Resolve technical issues and implement changes as needed.
• Represent the project and company in meetings and forums as required.
