Job summary

Raytheon, a leading defense contractor, seeks a power electronics engineer to design, analyze, and integrate robust power systems for telemetry and flight termination products. You will lead cross-functional teams from concept to integration, addressing both non-isolated and isolated converter architectures and ensuring compliance with strict DoD requirements.

The role emphasizes system-level architecture, schedule management, and mentoring junior engineers while expanding technical capabilities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience with linear converters and non-isolated converter topologies (buck, boost, buck-boost).
• Experience with isolated converter topologies (flyback, half-bridge, full-bridge, forward, push-pull, resonant).
• Experience with EMI filter design, transformer/inductor design, and electrical design specifications.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, simulate, test, and document power conversion circuitry.
• Lead large teams and define schedules and system-level tasking.
• Guide ECAD drafters and junior engineers through layout and routing.
