Job summary

MatX Inc. is seeking a Power Engineer for its Hardware System team to define, design, and validate the complete power architecture for a rack-scale AI data center product.

You will work across silicon, system, thermal, and mechanical domains to maximize power efficiency and performance from rack to chip. You will develop power specs, management strategy, and voltage regulator implementations, validating designs in lab bring-up and ensuring compliance with safety and thermal standards, while

Qualifications

• 10–15 years in power design.
• Experience with buck DC‑DC converters, multi‑phase VRMs, vertical delivery.
• Modeling tools for transient analysis (Simplis, HSPICE) and CAD tools (Allegro).
• Lab bring-up, debug, design validation, and lab equipment.
• Proven track record delivering shipped products.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent team player.
• Familiarity with ORV3 HPR, VHDC, data center power delivery is a plus.
• Knowledge of dynamic workload management is a plus.
• This position requires both design work and lab work.
• Hybrid role: Mountain View, CA office 3 days a week (Tue–Thu).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring power solutions from concept to production.
• Develop power specifications, management strategy, and accurate power estimation models.
• Implement voltage regulator designs meeting silicon and system specs.
• Validate complex voltage regulator designs in the lab during silicon bring-up and test workloads for stable power delivery.
• Ensure designs adhere to industry standards and regulations, including electrical safety and thermal management.
• Provide leadership and technical guidance during board and system integration.
