Job summary

Old Dominion Mechanical in Virginia seeks a working foreman to manage day-to-day operations of field crews on trade-specific construction projects, ensuring quality and customer satisfaction. You will supervise up to eight workers, coordinate with other trades, interpret drawings and schedules, and perform onsite tasks as needed.

A HS diploma or GED is required, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Must have 5–7 years of commercial construction experience or equivalent.
• Experience supervising a team of up to 8 workers daily.
• Strong ability to read and interpret drawings, specs and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Plans for and supervises field crews and trade activities, including methods, manpower, and hours.
• Coordinates work with other trades and contractors to maintain schedule.
• Directs on-site crew to ensure work complies with drawings and specs.
• Performs a wide range of skilled construction tasks on site.
• Acts as liaison with materials, QA/QC, and engineering to support schedule.
• Resolves construction problems and improves methods with supervisors and engineers.
• Monitors safety program compliance and documents corrective actions.
