Job summary

The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation is seeking a Plumber II (CF) for the California Medical Facility in Vacaville, Solano County. The role includes instructing and directing a crew of Plumbers and incarcerated persons to install, maintain, inspect and repair plumbing systems, while ensuring security and safety.

Work is in-office, full-time, with a focus on supervision and compliance with facility rules to prevent escapes and protect state property.

Qualifications

• Journeyman plumber certification or equivalent experience.
• Experience installing, maintaining, inspecting, and repairing standard plumbing equipment (water, gas, sewage, fire control).
• Ability to supervise a work crew of plumbers and incarcerated persons and maintain order and safety.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and direct the plumber crew, including incarcerated persons.
• Supervise movement and conduct to maintain security and prevent contraband.
• Inspect premises and repair plumbing equipment as required.
• Maintain safety and security of work areas and materials.
