Job summary

The State of North Carolina, Department of Adult Correction, Albemarle Correctional Institution in Badin, NC, is seeking a Plumber II (S) to install, maintain and repair plumbing systems at journey level. The role reports to the Facility Maintenance Supervisor IV and includes supervisory duties over semi-skilled offenders.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED with two years of piping experience and the possibility of licensure depending on work performed; salary ranges

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with two years of experience in the repair, replacement, or construction of piping systems.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, alter, and repair plumbing systems at journey level.
• Possess knowledge of installation methods and safety codes for plumbing.
• Solder copper pipe and fabricate material lists for projects.
• Supervise semi-skilled male offenders and respond to emergencies as needed.
• May require licensure by the governing board or commission based on the job requirements.
