About The Role

You will perform preventive maintenance, repairs,testing, installation, and troubleshooting across domestic water, sanitary,process piping, and specialty lab utility systems.

As a CBRE Lead Plumber you will support a large, regulatedlife sciences R&D environment, ensuring the reliable operation of criticalplumbing and mechanical systems that support laboratory, research, anddevelopment activities. You will perform preventive maintenance, repairs,testing, installation, and troubleshooting across domestic water, sanitary,process piping, and specialty lab utility systems.


This role is part of CBRE’s Engineering and TechnicalServices function, where precision, compliance, and system reliability areessential to maintaining safe, controlled laboratory operations. The idealcandidate understands the importance of working within GMP‑influenced, clean,and mission‑critical spaces, following strict safety, documentation, and change‑controlprocedures.


The position is based at a modern R&D campus offeringfree parking and is conveniently located within walking distance of an MBTAstation, providing an accessible and commuter‑friendly work environment.


Day Shift M-F 7:00AM -3:00PM


What You’ll Do


  • Assign work orders and estimate the time and materials needed to complete repairs. Maintain an inventory of adequate supplies and tools.

  • Perform maintenance and repairs to advanced mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems. Keep facility and building systems up to applicable standards as assigned.

  • Repair, install, replace, test, and troubleshoot the water and medical gas supply and distribution system.

  • Install new water systems, piping, and fixtures by blueprints, drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.

  • Ensure waste and vent lines are in good operating condition using a plumber’s snake, vacuum plunger, or jet washer.

  • Assist other staff members or contractors on projects or equipment installations.

  • Complete plumbing safety inspections on backflow devices.

  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.

  • Develop an energy management program. Ensure all systems operate in the most efficient manner.

  • Oversee and inspect the work performed by outside contractors. Respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisors.

  • Direct the implementation of a preventive maintenance program to ensure that building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life. Perform repairs and emergency maintenance as needed.

  • Review and sign off on inspections of building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure the operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by the client.

  • Apply advanced knowledge to seek and develop new, better methods for accomplishing both individual and department objectives.

  • Showcase expertise in own job discipline and in-depth knowledge of other job disciplines within the organization function.

  • Coach others to develop in-depth knowledge and expertise in most or all areas within the function.

  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Anticipates potential objections and persuades others, often at senior levels and of divergent interest, to adopt a different point of view.

What You’ll Need


  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 5-8years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination ofexperience and education will be considered. Prior shift manager or supervisoryexperience preferred.

  • MA Plumbing Licenseis Required

  • Meet the physical requirements of this role includingstooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability tolift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.

  • The innovative mentality to develop methods that go beyondexisting solutions.

  • Ability to solve unique problems using standard andinnovative solutions having a broad impact on the business.

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examplesinclude Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

  • Expert organizational skills with an advanced inquisitivemindset.

  • Highly sophisticated math skills. Ability to calculatesomewhat complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and otherfinancial-related calculations

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, includinga candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the positionis or $45.00 per hour and the maximum salary for the position is $53.50 per hour. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidatewill depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program
