Job summary

Jabil is seeking a Lead PLM & Configuration Engineer to own end-to-end configuration control for CAD models, BOMs, and documentation within the PLM system. You will enforce ECR/ECN workflows, manage as-designed vs as-built alignment, and coordinate multi-disciplinary release activities to ensure data integrity and audit readiness.

The role requires 8+ years in PLM/configuration management, strong CAD/BOM knowledge, and the ability to drive technical execution with minimal supervisory authority.

This role acts as the system authority ensuring data integrity, traceability and alignment across mechanical, electrical, and documentation domains throughout concept, NPI, production and sustaining phases.The position owns revision management, baselining, effectiveness, and ECR/EC N workflows, preventing data divergence while enabling scalable, repeatable engineering operations. The role is critical to supporting customer audits, compliance requirements, and product lifecycle traceability in complex, configuration-driven product environments.Key ResponsibilitiesConfiguration Control & PLM GovernanceOwn end-to-end configuration control for CAD models, BOMs, and technical documentation within the PLM system.Ensure accurate revision management, baselining, effectivity, lifecycle states, and release readiness across all engineering artifacts.Maintain alignment between CAD structures, EBOMs, MBOMs, and released documentation.Serve as the authoritative source for released product data, ensuring integrity, traceability, and audit readiness.Engineering Change & Release ExecutionOwn and enforce ECR/ECN workflows, ensuring changes are properly reviewed , approved, and traceable.Manage as-designed versus as-built alignment across product variants and lifecycle phases.Coordinate engineering release activities across mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, quality, and documentation teams.Drive resolution of configuration, release, and data quality issues to support program schedules and business objectives .Cross-Functional Leadership & Agile ExecutionLead release readiness reviews, change control boards, and cross-functional working sessions.Facilitate prioritization, action-item tracking, and issue resolution across engineering teams.Identify and remove blockers, manage dependencies, and drive accountability without direct supervisory authority.Apply Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or similar execution methodologies to improve engineering workflow efficiency and predictability.Data Governance & Continuous ImprovementDefine and enforce naming conventions, metadata standards, classification structures, and release criteria.Resolve configuration discrepancies, duplicate records, and data integrity issues.Continuously improve PLM, configuration management, and release processes to increase engineering velocity and data quality.Develop and maintain configuration management standards, best practices, and governance procedures.Audit Readiness & TraceabilityEnsure PLM data structures support customer audits, compliance requirements, and quality management systems.Maintain traceable records linking requirements, designs, changes, configurations, and released products.Support customer, regulatory, and internal audits through configuration history, impact analysis, and documentation retrieval.Required QualificationsB achelor's degree in Engineering , Manufacturing, or equivalent professional experience .8+ years of experience in PLM, configuration management, or product data governance within complex engineering environments.Deep understanding of PLM systems, engineering change processes, and release workflows.Demonstrated experience coordinating cross-functional engineering activities across multiple disciplines.Strong understanding of CAD, BOM, document control, and lifecycle relationships.Proven ability to drive technical execution, prioritize work, and achieve closure without formal management authority.Preferred ExperienceExperience supporting complex electromechanical products, such as cooling systems, power distribution equipment, or industrial infrastructure.Background in NPI and sustaining engineering environments with frequent design changes.Experience with Agile, Scrum, Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar project execution tools.Familiarity with product variants, regional configurations, and effectivity management.Experience supporting customer, regulatory, or quality audits.Core CompetenciesPLM and configuration management expertiseConfiguration integrity and governanceAgile execution and task leadershipCross-functional influence and coordinationSystems thinking across engineering domainsRisk-based decision makingAttention to detail and operational rigorThe pay range for this role is $110,100 - $198,200.
