Job summary

Jabil seeks a Senior Manager, Technical Sourcing to lead a division within the Technical Sourcing Organization. You will drive supplier selection, DFM feedback, and cost optimization across design, NPI, and risk reduction initiatives.

This leadership role interfaces with suppliers, customers, and executives to resolve escalations and deliver value. You will mentor a growing team, refine tools and templates, and manage costs with a focus on process standardization and automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Supply Chain required; 12+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• 4–6 years of direct management experience with direct reports required.
• Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management preferred.
• Advanced PC skills, with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for BOM pricing and cost change implications across design to mass production milestones.
• Lead supplier selection, negotiations, and risk mitigation aligned with commodity management.
• Drive Early Supplier Involvement and DFM recommendations; guide NPI and PPAP/APQP processes.

• Provide guidance to reports and buyers; ensure components are fully qualified and ready for procurement.

This organization supports supplier selection and part validation for three major facets of Jabil’s needs: (1) Design, (2) NPI, (3) Risk/Cost Reduction. This position requires situational analysis to leverage Jabil’s Supply Chain and Sourcing organizations as well as Jabil’s tools, templates, and processes to ensure we are identifying, validating, and deploying components into Jabil’s supply base correctly. This role must shift and adapt quickly to changing project requirements and act with a sense of urgency. The individual in this position will lead and develop value propositions and ensure the organization is fully utilized an optimized. Additionally, this position will require direct customer and supplier interface as well as engagement with executive stakeholders. The expectation is that this role can resolve almost all escalations without the need for internal/external customers to escalate further.There is also an expectation of cultivating internal growth within the team, leading succession planning, refining and evolving tools/templates/ways of working, as well as managing a balance sheet and forecast for organizational costs. This role is the last layer of escalation within the specific division supported before going to executive management.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDesign Projects:Accountable for BOM pricing as it evolves through each design and mass production milestone.Accountable for resolving cost differences and addressing supply chain impacts due to BOM changes, design shifts, and scope changes. Responsible for providing detailed explanation for any unresolved issues.Accountable for soliciting and managing supplier Design for Manufacturability (DFM) recommendations as required. Interprets supplier feedback to provide clear guidance on product and/or process optimization.Accountable for the supplier selection process in alignment with commodity management.Accountable for supplier negotiations and risk mitigation as required.Provides guidance to direct reports and buyers to maintain clean-to-build part status for all design phases.Accountable for driving Early Supplier Involvement. NPI Projects:Where assigned, accountable for a supply chain strategy for all components identified as Jabil’s ownership.Accountable for the management of qualification process of components and suppliers under Jabil ownership, including but not limited to DFM, FOT, PPAP, and APQP.Accountable for resolving escalations on supplier negotiations and risk mitigation as required.Provides guidance to direct reports and buyers to maintain clean-to-build part status for all design phases.Accountable for guiding direct reports to work with NPI buyer and selected suppliers to optimize and minimize on hand inventory. Risk/Cost Reduction:Where assigned, accountable for supply chain projects including cost optimization, quality improvement, and supply assurance in alignment with commodity management.Leads purchasing organization with short-term/high-risk quality issues, line down constraints, and supplier negotiations.Takes guidance from senior team members, SCDMs, SSMs, and Business Unit on Risk/Cost Reduction projects and manages building value propositions. The team's focus revolves around cost optimization and risk reduction.
