Job summary

Longwood Elastomers, a Wabtec Company, in Wytheville, VA seeks an Electrical & PLC Maintenance Technician to lead electrical maintenance, automation projects, and reliability initiatives. The role supports troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance to maximize uptime and safe operation of production assets.

The ideal candidate is an experienced industrial electrician with strong PLC skills, capable of mentoring technicians and guiding continuous improvement efforts across facility

Qualifications

Journeyman/Industrial Electrician with industrial maintenance experience.
Ability to read electrical schematics and control drawings.
PLC troubleshooting and controls experience required.
Experience in a manufacturing environment and safety-minded.

Responsibilities

Lead electrical and automation projects from planning to completion.
Troubleshoot, repair, and program PLC-controlled equipment.
Maintain electrical distribution, sensors, VFDs, and safety systems.
Manage preventive maintenance and CMMS documentation.
Coordinate with contractors, plan outages, and mentor technicians.
