Job summary

Boar in Virginia seeks a Maintenance Lead to direct maintenance of plant equipment, supervise crews, and coordinate with Facility and Operations Management on priorities and special projects.

The role requires hands-on skills with machine controls (PLC, relays, drives), welding, fabrication, and troubleshooting of pneumatic and hydraulic systems, while ensuring GMP/SOP compliance and food safety rules.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED plus specialized training.
• Must be able to work in a team with facility personnel.
• Must communicate with supervision, QA, safety, and USDA personnel.
• Five+ years of mechanical experience showing growth in knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Directs crews and prioritizes work with Facility and Operations Management.
• Troubleshoots and repairs pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical components.
• Ensures GMPs and SOPs are followed and food safety rules are observed.
• Trains junior mechanics and supports maintenance reporting.
