Job summary
Longwood Elastomers, a Wabtec Company, in Wytheville, Virginia, seeks an Electrical & PLC Maintenance Technician to lead electrical maintenance, automation projects, and reliability initiatives across the facility. The ideal candidate will mentor technicians, support preventive maintenance, read schematics, and ensure safe, efficient operation of production assets. This role emphasizes reducing downtime and improving uptime.
Qualifications
- Journeyman Electrician or equivalent experience is required.
- 5+ years of industrial electrical maintenance experience.
- 3+ years of PLC troubleshooting and controls experience.
- Experience reading electrical schematics and control drawings.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical and automation projects from planning through completion.
- Coordinate electrical contractors, vendors, and internal resources.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to maintenance technicians.
- Support maintenance planning and scheduling to maximize uptime.
- Implement continuous improvement projects to improve reliability and safety.
- Develop SOPs, preventive maintenance programs, and troubleshooting guides.
