Job summary

Beacon Software seeks an engineering leader to own architecture, infrastructure, and releases for SDC's ERP platform. You will be a player-coach, writing code when needed and building a team that can operate without you.

The role focuses on OCI-based hosting, VPNs, backups, DR, and a modern CI/CD pipeline. You will raise the engineering floor with automated tests, code reviews, and AI-assisted tooling while guiding migrations from on‑prem to OCI.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a small engineering team while still shipping code
• Able to make final technical decisions and explain them
• Broad expertise across databases, Linux, networking, deployment, and application code
• Ownership of production infrastructure including backups and DR
• Migration of on-prem/colo to OCI and guiding runbooks

Responsibilities

• Make architectural, infrastructure, release, and priority decisions; explain tradeoffs
• Lead and upgrade the team; coach, hire, and build a self-sufficient group
• Own the OCI-based platform, VPNs, backups, DR, and site-to-site connections
• Own the release pipeline from ticket to customer update; end-to-end ownership
• Reduce operational risk by replacing aging infra and documenting processes
• Move customers from on-prem/colo to OCI; create runbooks for handoff
• Ensure uptime with alerting and an effective on-call rotation
• Promote AI-assisted development and introduce agents for schema/PL/SQL migrations
