Beacon Software seeks a senior generalist to join 99Pledges as the sole engineer, owning architecture, deployments, incidents, and vendor calls. The role rewards automation, prioritization, and end-to-end ownership in a fast-growing education-tech portfolio.

You will drive the product roadmap with the GM and customers, ensure robust money flows, and embed AI features with safeguards. Write tests, docs, and maintain uptime.

Qualifications

• Senior generalist with cross-domain experience and fast learning ability.

Responsibilities

• Set the roadmap with stakeholders and translate priorities into a sequenced plan.
• Get the money right: Donations, payouts, reconciliation across providers; manage retries and webhooks.
• Put AI into the product with guardrails and production readiness.
• Use AI in your own workflow and automate coding tasks.
• Raise the engineering floor with trunk-based development, CI, staging, and tests.
• Write code, tests, and docs so future engineers can pick up easily.
• Handle fraud and abuse to protect donors and schools.
• Watch cloud and vendor spend to avoid waste.
• Talk to non-engineers: operators, administrators, and partners.
• Own uptime and pager responsibilities, with rapid incident response.
