Job summary

Optomi, in partnership with an industry-leading client, seeks a Lead Platform Engineer to drive reliability, security, automation, and evolution of enterprise infrastructure across cloud and on‑prem environments. This hands‑on technical leadership role spans platform engineering, Kubernetes, DevOps, automation, and infrastructure security.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of platform engineering/infrastructure experience.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or similar automation/IaC tools.
• Strong scripting skills with Python, PowerShell, and/or Bash.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead platform strategy and technical direction across infrastructure, cloud, networking, and DevOps environments.
• Improve platform reliability, performance, monitoring, automation, and operational processes.
• Design and maintain containerized environments using Docker, Kubernetes, and Rancher.
• Build and manage infrastructure using Terraform and other IaC/configuration management tools.
• Support CI/CD, API integration, automated provisioning, and platform orchestration.
• Establish and maintain security, resiliency, backup, and disaster recovery standards.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and provide technical recommendations for new initiatives.
• Partner with engineering, security, operations, and vendors to deliver enterprise platform solutions.
