Job summary

Optum Insight is seeking a seasoned DevOps/Cloud Engineer in New Jersey to lead support engineers, shape incident response, and ensure 24x7 production reliability across AWS, Kubernetes, and middleware.

You will implement CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, manage EKS clusters, Red Hat systems, monitoring with Splunk and Dynatrace, and apply AI/automation tools to improve delivery and security.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in technical support, IT operations, or DevOps infrastructure with leadership
• 3+ years administering Kubernetes platforms
• 3+ years developing CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions
• 3+ years RHEL administration with scripting
• 2+ years enterprise monitoring (Splunk, Dynatrace)
• 1+ years AI tools or code intelligence usage

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and technical direction to support engineers and professional staff, owning incident restoration and system availability
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions with blue-green, rolling, and canary deployment strategies and IaC
• Administer and support Kubernetes (EKS), JBoss, and RabbitMQ across production and non-production environments
• Utilize enterprise-approved AI tools, RAG frameworks, agentic systems, and code intelligence tools to streamline delivery workflows
• Manage AWS cloud infrastructure (EC2, EKS, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch) with security and disaster recovery readiness
• Administer Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems, patching, hardening, and automation scripting
• Implement observability with Splunk and Dynatrace for logs, APM, alerting, and root-cause analysis
• Manage 24x7 production support rotations and service requests
