Job summary

Optomi is seeking a hands-on AWS Platform Engineer with a strong software development background to design, build, deploy, and operate cloud-based applications and platform services in AWS. The role emphasizes a developer mindset and working across application development, infrastructure, deployment, observability, and production support.

Qualifications

• Hands-on coding and software engineering expertise across modern cloud apps.
• Deep hands-on experience building and operating AWS-based applications.
• Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB/RDS, CloudWatch, IAM, and VPC networking.
• Strong system design and cloud architecture experience.
• Experience with platform engineering, IaC, CI/CD, and production deployments.
• Experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure as code tooling.
• Observability, monitoring, debugging, and production troubleshooting.
• Backend development with Node.js, Python, or similar.
• Comfortable with multi-hat roles across development, infrastructure, operations.
• CRM/Salesforce experience is not required but a plus.
• Experience with AI assistants, Amazon Connect, Lex, or SRE practices is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and support scalable applications and platform services in AWS.
• Develop backend services, APIs, integrations, and automation using Node.js and Python.
• Participate in system design and architecture decisions around scalability, reliability, security, and performance.
• Build and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform and modern CI/CD practices.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability across production environments.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root‑cause analysis across applications and infrastructure.
• Partner with engineering teams to improve deployment processes, reliability, and overall platform performance.
• Contribute across multiple areas of the technology stack and take ownership from development through production.
