Job summary

Optomi is seeking a highly technical Staff Software Engineer – Server Infrastructure & Automation to modernize and automate enterprise infrastructure across large-scale data center environments. This role sits at the intersection of software engineering, systems engineering, infrastructure automation, and platform engineering.

The team is transforming toward a hybrid cloud infrastructure model, focusing on automation, self-healing capabilities, and scalable platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/engineering/IT.
• 8+ years of experience in software, systems or infrastructure engineering.
• Strong foundation in infrastructure software engineering for large-scale environments.
• Experience designing and developing software or automation that manages infrastructure at scale.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, Java, C++, Rust, or C#.
• Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management (Python & Ansible).
• Strong Linux/enterprise OS fundamentals and understanding of server architectures.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical owner for enterprise server infrastructure platforms across their lifecycle.
• Design and develop software systems that automate infrastructure deployment, provisioning, monitoring, and remediation.
• Build automation and orchestration solutions using languages like Python, Ansible, Go, Java.
• Develop Infrastructure-as-Code and configuration management solutions.
• Create automated workflows for detecting issues, ticketing, remediation, and escalation.
• Contribute to self-monitoring and self-healing infrastructure capabilities.
• Engineer solutions interfacing with physical servers, firmware, networking, and storage.
