RTX is seeking a Principal Platform Engineer to join the Missile Defense Sensors Software Department. The role focuses on designing, optimizing, and maintaining the platform infrastructure that underpins radar and Command/Control systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) required; minimum 8 years of experience.
• Expertise in Linux platform engineering and administration.
• Experience architecting or leading platform and DevSecOps environments for real-time systems.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible and virtualization tools.
• Experience with scripting/automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Experience with CI/CD and secure build/deploy architectures.
• Ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, development, and maintenance of platform architecture and modernization strategies for radar and C2 systems.
• Architect and lead development of tools/frames for secure, automated build, test, release using CI/CD and DevSecOps.
• Collaborate with software developers, system engineers, and test teams to integrate applications into platforms.
• Optimize platform performance, reliability, and scalability for defense programs.
• Maintain secure computing environments adhering to cybersecurity best practices and standards.
• Lead system-level integration, debugging for platform-related issues in development, testing, and operations.
• Champion platform automation and monitoring using Ansible, Terraform, and Kubernetes.
• Provide Agile Scrum/Kanban leadership and support planning/estimation."
• Represent platform engineering in design reviews, customer meetings, and technical boards.
• Establish platform engineering standards and promote DevSecOps maturity and IaC adoption.
