Job summary

RTX is seeking a Platform Engineer II for the Missile Defense Sensors Software Department in Massachusetts. The role focuses on platform design, integration, and automation to support radar and C2 systems. Onsite in Woburn or Te wksbury, MA with cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities include building scalable platforms, securing CI/CD pipelines, and optimizing performance while meeting defense program requirements. A STEM degree and security clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 2+ years in platform engineering or similar.
• Experience with Linux platform engineering and administration.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible and/or virtualization tools such as VMware/KVM.
• Scripting/automation with Python, Bash or PowerShell.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain platform architecture and modernization strategies for radar and C2 systems.
• Develop and manage tools to secure, automate build, test and release processes (CI/CD/DevSecOps).
• Collaborate with software, systems and test teams for seamless integration into platforms.
• Optimize platform performance, reliability, and scalability for defense programs.
• Ensure secure computing environments and cybersecurity best practices.
