Raytheon is seeking a Principal Platform Engineer to join the Missile Defense Sensors Software Department. The role focuses on designing and maintaining critical platform infrastructure for radar and C2 systems, with emphasis on automation, security, and scalable deployment.

The ideal candidate will have extensive Linux platform engineering experience, expertise in DevSecOps, and hands-on work with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform and Ansible, plus strong scripting skills and a willingness to

Qualifications

BS in STEM and 8+ years of relevant experience.
Expertise in Linux platform engineering and administration.
Experience leading platform/DevSecOps environments for real-time systems.
Hands-on with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible and virtualization tools.
Strong scripting in Python, Bash or PowerShell and CI/CD familiarity.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.

Responsibilities

Own platform architecture design, development and modernization strategies.
Develop tools and frameworks for automated build/test/release with CI/CD and DevSecOps.
Collaborate across software, systems and test teams for integration.
Optimize platform performance, reliability and scalability for defense programs.
Maintain secure computing environments following cybersecurity best practices.
