Job summary

DVSA is seeking a Lead Platform Engineer to shape and deliver the technical strategy for large-scale digital services. You will lead a code-first approach to infrastructure, driving cloud engineering standards, automation and platform delivery across teams, primarily on AWS.

You will mentor multiple teams, enforce IaC standards, and manage the path-to-live for critical services, collaborating with government partners to ensure high availability and cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

• Hands-on AWS, Linux, Docker, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Puppet and AWS Landing Zone.
• Strong leadership, coaching and stakeholder management.
• Experience delivering cloud platforms at scale with security and cost focus.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical direction to multiple DevOps teams.
• Establish and enforce DevOps standards across the lifecycle (IaC, CI/CD).
• Mentor engineers and testers to improve capability.
• Design secure, available cloud architectures on AWS (Azure awareness).
• Drive IaC automation using Terraform, Puppet, and Ansible.
• Own service journey from concept to live deployment and maintenance.
• Lead incident resolution and live service support.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to align tech with business goals.
