Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Senior Cloud Software Engineer to lead scalable, high-availability cloud infrastructure for edge services and APIs. You will guide IaC patterns, drive reliability at scale, and mentor new engineers across teams.

The role emphasizes Terraform, AWS cloud-native design, and strong collaboration with product and engineering leadership to deliver resilient platforms while maintaining security and performance. Remote in Spain with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Cloud/DevOps or SRE with Python/Java/Go
• Architectural depth: AWS cloud-native solutions at scale (CloudFront, Multitenancies, DNS, Caching, WAF, Lambda, S3)
• IaC expert: Terraform, multi-environment state management
• System reliability: SLIs, SLOs, monitoring with Datadog/Grafana/Athena
• Strong microservices background: traffic routing, rate limiting, service discovery
• Leadership: lead technical projects end-to-end and communicate complex concepts

Responsibilities

• Lead scalable, high-availability cloud infrastructure design and delivery.
• Own reliability of services handling billions of weekly requests.
• Drive IaC evolution with Terraform for modular, secure patterns.
• Balance rapid deployment with safety checks in pipelines.
• Mentor L1/L2 engineers and review code and designs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align roadmaps.
• Prototype optimizations for API infrastructure to improve uptime.
