Job summary

State Farm in Tempe, AZ is seeking a Lead Platform Engineer to design, build, and maintain end-to-end CI/CD pipelines across the full SDLC. You will work with GitLab, GitHub Actions, Docker, Kubernetes, and IaC to enable secure, scalable deployments.

This role blends hands-on engineering with governance, security, and collaboration with SREs, QA, and product teams in a hybrid environment. Eligible candidates live within 180 miles of hub locations including Tempe.

Qualifications

• Go, JavaScript/TypeScript backend development experience.
• Experience with AWS and Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes in CI/CD
• Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD and GitHub Actions workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain end-to-end CI/CD pipelines across the full SDLC.
• Establish enterprise-level reusable pipeline templates and workflow standards.
• Integrate infrastructure-as-code and declarative configurations for secure deployments.
• Embed security, quality, and compliance into delivery across environments (dev/test/staging/prod).
• Collaborate with application engineers, SREs, QA, product, and release management.
