Job summary

GDIT seeks a Lead Platform Engineer to build, configure, and sustain a Software Factory for the US Space Force. You will lead the deployment of Azure cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes clusters, implement DevSecOps tooling (Jira, Confluence, GitLab), and guide teams in IaC, automation, and secure software delivery.

Ideal candidates will have 10+ years in DevOps/Cloud, DoD security clearances, Linux expertise, and strong communication. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship required
• DoD Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS
• 10+ years of DevOps/Cloud experience
• Experience with Linux-based operating systems
• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices
• Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language
• Experience with Git version control
• Experience with containerization and Kubernetes deployments
• Knowledge of Kubernetes Persistent Volumes / CSI plugins
• Strong communication and Agile/ALM experience

Responsibilities

• Architect and maintain IaC build, test, and deployment CI/CD pipelines.
• Deploy and manage Kubernetes clusters in Azure, including Lab and classified environments.
• Deploy Jira, Confluence, GitLab and DevSecOps tools to VMs and Kubernetes clusters.
• Develop automation for building IaC pipelines with Packer, Ansible, and shell scripts.
• Provide DevSecOps leadership and coaching to teams and customers.
• Lead DevSecOps platform development and drive value delivery for customers.
• Travel: Up to 25%
