Job summary

Moderna is seeking a hands-on DevSecOps Software Engineer to build and evolve the foundations that help application teams develop, deploy, and operate software effectively. You will collaborate with Builders to provide scalable, secure platform capabilities, and expand your scope across full software lifecycles including cloud infra and production ops.

You will improve developer experience, onboard internal tooling, and advance AI-assisted development across the platform, including MCP-style

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software engineering/platform engineering/DevOps or related role.
• Strong programming skills in TypeScript/JavaScript or Python.
• Hands-on experience building and operating solutions in AWS.
• Experience creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for production systems.
• Interest in developer tooling, platform engineering, infrastructure automation, and secure software delivery.
• Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals (testing, code review, version control, system design).
• Ability to adapt to changing team priorities across platform engineering responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain automation for developer platform services using Python/TypeScript, GitHub Actions, Pulumi, Docker, AWS, JFrog, and other vendor APIs.
• Partner with application teams to migrate workloads onto standard platform capabilities.
• Onboard repositories and teams to standardized platform, validate behavior, and improve workflows.
• Create and maintain developer remote workspace infrastructure, templates, container configurations, base images, and onboarding docs.
• Improve reliability and usability through monitoring, alerts, runbooks, dashboards, and automation support.
• Write internal docs, examples, and paved-road guides for builders.
• Identify recurring developer pain points and contribute improvements to shared frameworks and tooling.
• Support operational ownership of platforms while reducing toil via automation.
• Enable AI-assisted development across the platform with integrated tools.
