Job summary

Moderna seeks a Senior AI Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and operation of AI software platforms in Cambridge, MA (and Warsaw). You will own end-to-end architecture for AI/data products, including lakehouse patterns, CI/CD, and model lifecycle.

You will mentor engineers, set engineering standards, and partner with product, cybersecurity, and validation teams to meet GxP requirements while shipping scalable AI solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS or a related technical field.
• 7+ years software, data, or AI engineering experience with 4+ years in production ML/GenAI.
• Expert Python and SQL; knowledge of Java/Scala/TypeScript.
• Frontend TS/JS with React/Angular/Vue/Svelte; backend APIs with Python/Node.js/Java/Scala.
• Experience architecting and operating LLM/GenAI systems (RAG, embeddings, model eval).
• Strong cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP) with IAM, CI/CD, IaC.
• GxP, data integrity, validation docs, and change control.

Responsibilities

• Define technical strategy and reference architecture for AI software delivery.
• Lead cloud deployment standards across dev/test/production environments.
• Build and review software components, APIs, and platform accelerators.
• Establish practices for AI/ML/LLMOps, testing, and release management.
• Guide SAP and enterprise data sources into trusted data products.
• Partner with product owners, cybersecurity, validation, and infra teams.
• Coach and mentor engineers across regions; promote best practices.
• Improve platform reliability, cost efficiency, and developer experience.
