Job summary

Texas Instruments Incorporated in Sherman, TX is seeking an Advanced Process Development Engineer to help develop, optimize, and transfer plasma etch processes for next-generation semiconductor devices. You will work with integration, equipment, metrology, and manufacturing to drive technology, improve process capability, and enable smooth ramp into high-volume manufacturing.

The ideal candidate has strong plasma etch fundamentals and data analysis skills.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical expertise in plasma etch and semiconductor process development.
  • Experience with DOE design and statistical analysis.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional problem solving and cross-team communication.
  • Experience transferring processes into high-volume manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize plasma etch processes for advanced semiconductor devices.
  • Design and execute experiments (DOE) to improve etch rate, selectivity, CD control, profile, defectivity, and uniformity.
  • Characterize process performance and establish process windows for manufacturing robustness.
  • Evaluate new chemistries, hardware configurations, and chamber technologies.
  • Collaborate with device integration teams to meet product and technology requirements.
  • Drive process readiness for technology transfers from development into manufacturing.
  • Establish process specifications, control plans, and release documentation.
  • Partner with equipment engineering to improve tool capability and reliability.
  • Lead chamber matching, equipment qualification, and process performance improvement.
  • Support installation and startup of new etch platforms.
  • Analyze complex process datasets using statistical methods and data analytics tools.
  • Identify root causes of excursions and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead yield improvement and defect reduction initiatives.
  • Utilize SPC methodologies to monitor and improve process stability.
  • Present technical findings to management and key stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians as needed.
