Job summary

Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC in Huntington, Indiana, seeks a Level A Technician for 1st shift to lead complex maintenance and automation projects, perform advanced diagnostics, and support system upgrades and integration.

This role is critical to plant reliability, offering opportunities to work with PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens), SCADA/HMI, robotics, and electrical systems, while mentoring junior technicians and coordinating with vendors.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Expertise in PLC programming, automation, and controls.
• Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Strategic thinking and continuous improvement.
• Ability to work independently and mentor junior technicians.
• Time management and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced troubleshooting and repair of complex systems.
• Full PLC diagnostics and minor programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.).
• Maintain SCADA and HMI systems.
• Robotics and automation systems support.
• Perform advanced electrical diagnostics and controls work.
• Manage maintenance projects and system upgrades and retrofits.
• Technical training and development of team members.
• Communicate and assist with outside vendors.
• Perform electrical panel work and wiring (all voltages).
• Install electrical infrastructure (all voltages).
• Plumbing repair and installation (black iron pipe, PVC, Pneumatic tubing)
• Calibration of sensors and instrumentation.
• Maintain HVAC systems.
• Fabricate and weld complex components (MIG/Stick).
