Job summary

Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC in Huntington, Indiana, is seeking a Multi-craft Maintenance Technician on 1st shift. The role leads complex maintenance and automation projects, performs advanced diagnostics, and supports system upgrades to improve plant reliability.

You will diagnose PLC-based systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens), maintain SCADA/HMI, repair electrical panels, install infrastructure, and mentor junior technicians while coordinating with vendors.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or equivalent experience required.
• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Expertise in PLC programming, automation, and controls.
• Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Strategic thinking and continuous improvement.
• Ability to work independently and mentor junior technicians.

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced troubleshooting and repair of complex systems.
• Full PLC diagnostics and minor programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.).
• Maintain SCADA and HMI systems.
• Robotics and automation systems support.
• Perform advanced electrical diagnostics and controls work.
• Manage maintenance projects and system upgrades and retrofits.
• Technical training and development of team members.
• Communicate and assist with outside vendors.
• Perform electrical panel work and wiring (all voltages).
• Install electrical infrastructure (all voltages).
• Plumbing repair and installation (black iron pipe, PVC, Pneumatic tubing).
• Calibration of sensors and instrumentation.
• Maintain HVAC systems.
• Fabricate and weld complex components (MIG/Stick).
