Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead Pipeline & Facilities Engineering projects in St. Louis, MO and Columbus, OH.

You will manage multi-disciplinary teams, drive project performance, and grow the T&D business with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and profitability. The ideal candidate has a PE or commensurate experience, strong leadership, and proven ability to manage complex engineering initiatives across locations, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of engineering design and engineering project management experience.
• Professional Engineering (PE) registration preferred.
• Ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, and manage change.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to present complex information.

Responsibilities

• Plan, budgeting, and establishing/achieving critical project objectives.
• Overall success of projects (safety, quality, and profitability).
• Manage engineering projects from concept to completion with design siting, permitting, planning, procurement, constructability reviews.
• Coordinate with project team across regional offices to ensure client satisfaction.
• Identify opportunities early, determine fees, write proposals, lead client presentations, and negotiate contracts.
• Support development and maintenance of business plan; lead proposal efforts for profitable growth.
• Report progress, cost, profit, schedule, risks, and issues requiring support.
