Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an experienced Pipeline Facilities Engineer to lead design and engineering activities across US offices, including Atlanta, Charlotte, and Chattanooga. You will supervise project teams, develop PFDs, P&IDs, BOMs, and support across surveying, geotechnical, permitting, and field execution.

Ideal candidates hold ABET degree, 7+ years in pipeline engineering with EPC exposure, and strong knowledge of AutoCAD/MicroStation, 49 CFR Part 192, and ASME B31.8.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's in Mechanical or Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 7 years of pipeline engineering experience; EPC project experience preferred.
• FE exam completed; PE license preferred for advancement.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, ATF; knowledge of 49 CFR Part 192 & ASME B31.8.

Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of pipeline facilities design including PFDs, P&IDs, details, and BOMs.
• Coordinate surveys, geotechnical investigations, permitting, and land acquisition.
• Develop proposals, scopes, cost estimates, and schedules for projects.
• Provide leadership, training, and mentoring to engineers and team members.
• Interact with clients and support business development efforts.
• Provide field support during construction as needed.
• Collaborate with Civil/Structural, Electrical, and I&C teams.
