Job summary

Tetra Tech Inc. is seeking a Mid-Senior Pipeline and Facilities Design Engineer to support pipeline, pump station, and terminal/tank projects across multiple sites including CO, MT, and WY.

The role involves leading design work, coordinating with clients, and developing PFDs, P&IDs, and 30–100% design packages for midstream oil and gas facilities. The candidate should bring experience in design engineering, strong communication, and the ability to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• BS in ABET accredited engineering program; 5-15+ years of relevant experience.
• FE exam preferred; PE licensure preferred or willingness to attain.
• NCEES record preferred or willingness to attain.
• Midstream Oil & Gas experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of ASME B31.4, B31.8 and CFR 192/195; industry standards.
• Experience coordinating with client SMEs and onsite teams.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; strong written and verbal communication.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Access.
• Willingness to travel for on-site data gathering and meetings.
• Drug screening required; valid driver's license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Provide design engineering support for pipeline, pump stations, and terminal/tank projects nationwide.
• Lead or participate in multi-disciplinary project teams and design reviews.
• Develop PFDs, P&IDs, and 30/60/90% and IFC/IFB drawings.
• Perform hydraulic calculations, line sizing, MAOP calculations.
• Develop detailed designs for pipelines, compressor/pump stations, and facilities.
• Coordinate with procurement for equipment specs and RFQs/RFPs.
• Incorporate compliance and permitting inputs; seal drawings if required.
• Travel up to 25% for field data gathering and client meetings.
