Job summary

Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. seeks a skilled Pipefitting Supervisor to lead crews in assembling, installing, and testing piping systems on marine vessels.

You will plan work, monitor progress, and ensure compliance with plans, codes, and safety rules in a heavy industrial shipyard environment. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, 3–5 years pipefitting/plumbing plus supervisory experience, proficiency with blueprints, pipe formulas, and tack welding.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 3–5 years pipefitting/plumbing experience.
• Prior supervisory experience required.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret plans.
• Knowledge of pipe craft formulas, measurements, and tack welding steel.
• Must pass SMAW Tack welding test to obtain ABS certification.
• Familiar with OSHA standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate pipefitting work on multiple ship systems.
• Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure safety.
• Verify quality and sign-off on tested piping systems.
• Oversee installation and repair of pipes, fittings, valves, and supports.
• Rig lifts and manage crane-safe handling of heavy components.
• Work with minimal supervision and maintain schedules.
