Job summary

General Dynamics - Bath Iron Works is seeking a Front Line Supervisor, Pipefitting to lead pipefitting activities in the shipbuilding environment. You will coach mechanics, ensure safety and quality, and align resources with project milestones.

Applicants should have at least 2 years of pipefitting experience, a solid understanding of shipbuilding processes, and strong communication skills; supervision experience is preferred. VT qualifications may be pursued for career growth.

Qualifications

• 2 years’ experience in Pipefitting.
• Solid understanding of shipbuilding and/or manufacturing processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Previous supervisory experience in a production environment is preferred.
• Willing to obtain VT qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead execution of pipefitting activities to support ship/unit schedules.
• Monitor the quality of work performed; ensure first-time quality through oversight and training.
• Provide technical guidance and support to mechanics.
• Mentor mechanics to strengthen trade performance and team effectiveness.
• Coordinate with area management to align resources with operational needs.
• Support achievement of Pipe Shop metrics and safety standards.
