Job summary

Pima Medical Institute is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician Lead Faculty Instructor to guide, mentor, and shape our phlebotomy program. You will oversee curriculum adherence, coordinate classroom and lab instruction, and ensure students are prepared for externships and field success.

The role emphasizes leadership, teaching excellence, and collaboration with the ADF to support accreditation and program effectiveness. Requires a strong phlebotomy background and instructional capabilities.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Phlebotomy Technician program recognized by USDE or CHEA (or equivalent)
• Minimum of four (4) years of job-related training and experience for non-graduates of an accredited program
• Minimum of three (3) years of occupational experience as a Phlebotomist or in a closely related field
• Active license, certification, or designation as required by local, state, or federal laws to work in the phlebotomy field
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Docs, and basic computer applications

Responsibilities

• Oversee program curriculum adherence and accreditation documentation
• Coordinate classroom and lab instruction, mentor faculty, and ensure externship readiness
• Oversee lab supply inventory and ordering, maintain proper instructor-to-student lab ratios
• Assist with onboarding and mentoring new faculty; track graduate certification pass rates
• Design and deliver lesson plans; evaluate and grade coursework and practical exams within 72 hours
• Coordinate externship site qualifications and progress in partnership with Career Services
• Maintain student retention and advising with timely documentation of concerns and leadership notification
