Job summary

Touchette Regional Hospital in Belleville, IL is seeking a Phlebotomy Supervisor to oversee the phlebotomy team and support the Laboratory Supervisor in coverage and daily operations.

Responsibilities include performing phlebotomy from neonate to geriatric patients, handling specimens and reports, managing LIS tasks, and ensuring accuracy, quality, and timely processing of all laboratory work to serve patients effectively.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy or equivalent program required.
• 2-5 years phlebotomy experience required.
• BLS certification within 90 days; de-escalation training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy on all outpatients and inpatients as required, from neonate to geriatric patients.
• Interprets physician orders and orders tests in appropriate system.
• Follows proper identification practice and procedure for all patients’ phlebotomies.
• Records proper information on specimen labels as required by procedure.
• Maintains laboratory files and assists with clerical duties to support daily operations.
