Job summary

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED plus a phlebotomy or related program, with 2–5 years phlebotomy experience preferred. BLS and related trainings are required or preferred as noted.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy or equivalent program required.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy on outpatients and inpatients (neonate to geriatric) by finger stick, heel stick, or venipuncture.
• Interprets physician orders and tests in the system.
• Maintains proper patient identification and specimen labeling.
• Performs routine collection rounds and timed draws.
• Processes, batches, and centrifuges specimens; delivers to proper department.
• Maintains laboratory files and handles clerical duties for daily operations.
• Assists with inventory and general maintenance of laboratory equipment.
