Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy program required.
• Less than 2 years phlebotomy experience preferred.
• BLS certification required or obtained within 90 days.
• De-Escalation and restraint training completed during orientation.
• Basic computer skills and ability to communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy on outpatients and inpatients as required.
• Interprets physician orders and orders tests in the system.
• Records patient information on specimen labels accurately.
• Delivers specimens to the appropriate department and coordinates STAT orders.
• Maintains laboratory files and assists with clerical tasks as needed.
