Job summary

Qualifications

• Completed Phlebotomy program in an accredited college or university.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• BLS certification from a recognized provider.
• ACLS certification from a recognized provider.

Responsibilities

• Obtain blood specimens by venipuncture and capillary puncture with minimal trauma to the patient.
• Instruct patients on proper collection of urine samples.
• Use Epic Beaker to enter lab orders and verify tests against requisitions.
• Maintain positive patient identification and specimen labeling/handling.
• Support and train less senior staff and participate in quality improvement.
