Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification/licensure (if applicable).
• Ability to perform phlebotomy on patients of all ages.
• Strong organization and problem-solving skills.
• Good evaluative and interpretive abilities.
• Adaptability to changing work conditions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy professionally and compassionately.
• Maintain a clean, safe draw station and stocked supplies daily.
• Ensure requisitions include patient demographics, diagnosis, insurance and physician data.
• Review Medicare requirements to determine ABN needs and complete forms when required.
• Ensure MSP is completed when necessary.
• Accurately collect specimens to fulfill lab orders.
• Communicate test orders clearly to clients and staff.
• Inform leadership about performance, concerns, and scheduling.
• In physician-office settings, collect specimens for UWL labs only.
