Job summary

Grady Health System in Atlanta is seeking a Lead Phlebotomist to oversee venipuncture, micro-collection, and point-of-care testing. You will ensure quality, timeliness, documentation in LIS, and supervision of staff across shifts.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, and phlebotomy certification (NHA, NPCE, NCCT, AMT, ASCP). Hospital experience preferred. You will schedule staff, train new employees, monitor supplies, and uphold safety standards while delivering patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of hospital-based phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification required by NHA, NPCE, NCCT, AMT or ASCP.

Responsibilities

• Manage shift schedules and distribute workload.
• Train new staff and students as assigned.
• Perform venipuncture, micro-collection, waived testing, POC testing and urinalysis.
• Document collection data in LIS and ensure compliance with policies.
