Job summary

Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola is seeking a Pharmacy Technician leader to coordinate shift operations and oversee technicians under pharmacist supervision. You will guide scheduling, monitor workflow, and contribute to process improvements within a fast-paced hospital pharmacy.

The role emphasizes mentorship, staffing decisions, and collaboration with Pharmacy management to ensure high-quality patient care and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Registered Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Florida Board of Pharmacy obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Responsibilities

• Lead or coordinate shift operations of assigned activities, resources, and/or associates; serve as a technical or functional resource and perform similar duties as associates they lead.
• Assign, monitor and review progress of work; monitor and report compliance with policies and/or procedures; resolve scheduling issues as needed.
• Oversee daily activities of the pharmacy technicians under the direction of pharmacists and management.
• Assist with specialty projects and tasks as assigned by Pharmacy management; participate in problem solving within the department.
• Provide input into hiring, training, directing, development and evaluation of staff.
