Job summary

Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join the Pediatric In-Patient Pharmacy Services team in Pensacola, FL. The role includes hazardous drug compounding, medication history, PAP support, and operating the automated dispensing system.

You will liaise with pharmacists, patients, and health professionals to ensure timely medication access, handle benefit investigations, and assist with patient education materials.

Qualifications

• Florida pharmacy tech registration or PTCB certification before hire date.
• HS diploma or equivalent with 2+ years of experience, or an associate/technical degree.
• 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Perform specialized duties such as hazardous drug compounding, medication history, nuclear, and PAP support as a pharmacy technician.
• Refill and maintain automated dispensing system; prepare orders; maintain inventory and repackaging of bulk meds; receive and store supplies.
• Serve as liaison between pharmacy, patient and health professionals; communicate with outside resources.
• Identify and assist with patient medication access including benefit investigation and prior authorizations.
• Assist Pharmacist in preparing patient education materials; immunizations may be given where permitted by state law.
• May monitor regulatory compliance and participate in inventory and drug shortage management.
