Job summary

Omnicare is seeking a Pharmacist to join the LTC pharmacy team, leading daily operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and upholding high standards of service. You will supervise staff, validate labels and therapy decisions, and participate in IV compounding and controlled substances oversight.

Responsibilities

• Execute day-to-day operations in the pharmacy related to workflow, production quotas, and deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal pharmacy regulations (DEA, SOPs, SOX, USP 797/795).
• Supervise staff to ensure proper order entry, workflow, security, and delivery schedules.
• Check accuracy of labels, orders, and drug packaging; assess therapy appropriateness via drug utilization review.
• Maintain IV drug products and documentation; monitor IV department activities.
• Assist in controlled substances handling and inventory; support ekits and Omnicells.
• Provide coverage evenings, weekends, and holidays; maintain HIPAA compliance.
• Report medication occurrences and participate in recall surveillance; perform other duties as assigned.
