Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Lead Pharmacist to oversee compliance with medication management standards and to lead a specialized pharmacy activity within the department. This role emphasizes program development, policy implementation, and quality improvement across inpatient and outpatient settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's of Science in Pharmacy from an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy is required.
• Advanced pharmacy degree, residency or healthcare leadership degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead program development, policy development and implementation; drive quality assurance and performance improvement.
• Develop standards for pharmacy staff; coordinate competency for compliance.
• Promote safe medication use; identify adverse events; review event reports for trends.
• Collaborate with pharmacy team, caregivers and leaders to deliver high-quality pharmaceutical services.
• Assist with leadership functions: staff oversight, employee evaluations, committee participation, on-call coverage and emergency procedures.
• Coordinate Lead IV Pharmacist duties for inpatient/outpatient intravenous admixture; oversee QA and related systems.
• Oversee Lead Research Pharmacist duties supporting investigational drug operations and clinical research activities.
• Other duties as assigned; technicians may practice per state regulations.
