Penn State Health's Department of Neurosurgery seeks a fellowship-trained Peripheral Nerve Neurosurgeon to establish and grow a comprehensive clinical program across its regional network. The role emphasizes advanced surgical care, education of residents and medical students, and collaboration with neurology, orthopaedics, pain management, and rehabilitation services.

Qualifications

  • MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree.
  • Completion of an accredited Neurosurgery Residency Program.
  • Fellowship training in Peripheral Nerve Surgery (CAST Accredited preferred).
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurological Surgery.
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in Pennsylvania.
  • Ability to obtain federal and state narcotics certificates.

Responsibilities

  • Provide evaluation, diagnosis, and surgical treatment for peripheral nerve disorders.
  • Develop and grow a specialized Peripheral Nerve Surgery Program across Penn State Health.
  • Deliver care in academic and community settings to expand patient access to specialized neurosurgical services.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for coordinated, patient-centered care.
  • Educate residents and medical students through clinical instruction and conferences.
  • Engage in clinical research, quality improvement, and scholarly activities.
  • Support departmental growth through outreach and referral network development.
  • Participate in departmental committees and faculty activities.
