Job summary

Penn State Health and Penn State College of Medicine seek a fellowship-trained Peripheral Nerve Neurosurgeon to establish and grow a comprehensive program serving patients throughout the Penn State Health system and region.

The successful candidate will provide advanced surgical care for complex peripheral nerve disorders while supporting education, research, and innovation across Penn State Health's academic and community settings.

Qualifications

  • MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree.
  • Completion of an accredited Neurosurgery Residency Program.
  • Significant experience and/or Fellowship training in Peripheral Nerve Surgery (CAST Accredited Peripheral Nerve Fellowship preferred).
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurological Surgery.
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Pennsylvania.
  • Must be able to obtain valid federal and state narcotics certificates.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and surgical treatment for patients with peripheral nerve disorders.
  • Continue to develop and grow a specialized Peripheral Nerve Surgery Program across Penn State Health.
  • Deliver care in both academic and community practice settings to expand patient access to highly specialized neurosurgical services.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide coordinated, patient-centered care.
  • Participate in resident and medical student education through clinical instruction, operative teaching, conferences, and mentorship.
  • Engage in clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, and scholarly activities that advance the field of neurosurgery.
  • Support departmental growth through outreach efforts, physician engagement, and referral network development.
  • Participate in departmental committees, faculty activities, and other responsibilities consistent with an academic faculty appointment.
